Baumschulen (Tree Seedlings), 5.-7. Klassen, 2019/2020

What is nature and how does it relate to art? At the beginning of the school year, students plant a few seeds of native trees. They write an intention on the pots, for the seeds and their good growth. Every day, they enter the classroom, water their hotbeds and the class begins. After 2 months, 30 of the 150 pots have sprouts and 7 months later, when the rain season begins, it's time to plant the tiny trees in the ground outside.

What does sustainability mean? At the end of the school year, in History class, we decide to do a project related to our time. 10th Grade students feel inspired by Greta Thunberg's Fridays for Future all over the world. They are interested in finding a way to show others how we can help the planet and inspire other people to do the same. J. found support to plant 100-trees in the wetland that the school is part of.
