Manuela es cineasta y artista. Estudió Antropología y se graduó de la Escuela Internacional de Cine y TV, San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba, en Dirección de Ficción y Documental.

​Manuela ha recibido tres becas del Fondo para el Desarrollo Cinematográfico de Colombia (Producción de Cortometraje de Ficción, 2011, Desarrollo de Proyecto Documental, 2012 y Producción de Largometraje Documental, 2016).

Escribió y dirigió el cortometraje CINCUENTA (Festival del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano, La Habana 2012, Festival Internacional de Cine de Huelva 2013) exhibido en 11 países del mundo. Escribió y dirigió LAS BROMELIAS (Reencontres de Toulouse 2014, São Paulo Short Film Festival 2014, Winterthur International Short Film Festival 2016). Ella, su padre y su hermana actuaron en la película como ellos mismos.

 

Su primer largometraje, DE NIRO IS NOT MY DAD (90 min., documental), se encuentra ahora en postproducción.

She wrote and directed the short film CINCUENTA (Festival of the New Latin American Cinema, Havana 2012, Huelva International Film Festival 2013) screened in 11 countries around the world.  She wrote and directed LAS BROMELIAS (Reéncontres de Toulouse 2014, São Paulo Short Film Festival 2014, Winterthur International Short Film Festival 2016). She, her father, and her sister played in the film as themselves. Her first feature, DE NIRO IS NOT MY DAD (90 Min., Documentary) is now in postproduction.
